Getting Started...
To get the most out of your prayer time:
- Schedule a time to pray. Think of it as making an appointment with God!
- Locate a place to pray. Somewhere that offers privacy and is free of distraction.
- Implement a strategy for prayer. The Lord's Prayer is the model we should use to pattern our prayers.
Creating a lifestyle of prayer does not happen overnight.
It takes consistent effort.
7 STEPS TO EFFECTIVE PRAYER
1. When you pray, connect with God relationally.
Our Father in heaven,
2. When you pray, worship God’s Name(s).
hallowed be your name,
3. When you pray, pray God’s agenda.
your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
4. When you pray, depend on God for everything.
Give us today our daily bread.
5. When you pray, forgive and be forgiven.
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
6. When you pray, engage in spiritual warfare.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one,
7. When you pray, express faith in God’s ability.
for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
